Ants are one of the most common pests in homes across the Gold Coast. Small black ants on the kitchen bench, coastal brown ants pushing soil up between pavers and trails along skirting boards are all part of life in a warm, humid climate. Heavy summer storms flood nests and send ants indoors, while dry spells bring them in looking for water.
When you call, we ask where the ants are showing up and how long it has been going on, then book a nearby independent crew with upfront pricing. Units and townhouses often have trails moving between homes through shared walls, so mention if neighbours have ants too. The crew traces the trails back to the nest and chooses baits or treatments to suit the kind of ant. An ant visit can include:
- Gel baiting in kitchens, bathrooms and laundries
- A treatment around the outside walls, paths and weep holes
- Treatment of nests in lawns, pavers and garden beds
- A check of window frames, doors and gaps where ants get in

It is normal to see more ants around baits for a day or two, as they carry the bait back to the nest. Try not to wipe baits away or spray over them. Suspected fire ants, which build low mounds of loose soil with no obvious entry hole, must be reported to Biosecurity Queensland on 13 25 23, and the crew we book does not treat them.
